
DaVonna Nickerson (she/her) is a pre-law undergraduate student from Kansas City, Missouri, studying communication with a minor in journalism. DaVonna is multifaceted and has a strong work ethic. She describes herself as detail-oriented and punctual. DaVonna has experience being a writing tutor and a style clerk at Target, both which improved her customer service skills and desire to help those around her. DaVonna has volunteered with Harvesters, a food bank, to help distribute food to people in her community. DaVonna is heavily involved on campus, especially with the Legion of Black Collegians (LBC), the Intercollegiate Communication Organization of Mizzou (iCom), and Published With Intent. DaVonna has interest in research as she wishes to learn how to conduct research, to broaden her network, and to try something new. DaVonna has personal academic goals of affecting positive change in the lives of under-represented groups, improving her writing skills, and being more proactive in forming relationships and connections with others.
