Kaiya Lynch (she/her) is an undergraduate student from Kansas City, Missouri, studying journalism with an emphasis in strategic communication. She describes herself as detail-oriented, driven, and curious. Kaiya has research experience with the ASH Scholars, a program of the Honors College and the Office of Undergraduate Research. In this role, she studied how minorities are portrayed by social identity-focused news outlets, and she presented this research during the University of Missouri System Undergraduate Research Day at the Missouri State Capitol. Kaiya has experience working as creative lead for Matchbook Marketing, an advertising agency that provides pro bono advertising work to clients across Missouri. She is involved on campus as a writing tutor at the Writing Center, communications intern at the Honors College, a tour guide through Tour Team, and as director of marketing and strategy for Visual Communications Club. Kaiya is interested in strategic communication research that results in new knowledge and change for social good.
